Jamming In January: Calendar Highlights

The Music City Group Calendar Round-up

January is Jamming Already!

Here's the Happenings in the Music City This Month

The Titans are keeping their postseason hopes alive with a huge Wild-Card game against the New England Patriots scheduled for January 5th. QB Ryan Tannehill is the AFC player of the month for December, and Derrick Henry holds the NFL rushing record for 2019 with over 1500 yards. Fingers crossed, but we’re feeling good about our chances.

The Predators got to open 2020 with a game in the open-air on New Year’s Day at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. They lost to the Dallas Stars 4-2 in the newly minted Winter Classic, but showed some promise with a decent amount of shots on goal. Their own play-off hopes keep looking slimmer as they’ve fallen to 18-15 on the season, and Pekka Rinne’s goaltending percentage has dropped over 10 percent. They’ll play the Ducks, Bruins, Sabres, and Maple Leafs at Bridgestone this month.

Hamilton Comes to TPAC

Hamilton, the highly praised, much lauded musical has finally made its way to Nashville, with a 3 week run of performances from December 31st- January 19th at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Hamilton follows the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton, as he rose to political prominence through the American Revolution. Ticket prices were extremely high for this outing, as Hamilton won 11 Tony Awards, and received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Monster Jam Returns to Bridgestone

January 4th & 5th, Monster Jam returns with piles of dirt, squealing tires, and crushing jumps performed by some very skilled drivers. The perennial favorite, Grave Digger, will go head to head in rambo-style combat driving with Zombie, Megalodon, Blue Thunder and El Toro Loco.

Celine Dion graces the Music City with her presence on January 13th at Bridgestone, Foreigner has paired up with the Nashville Symphony for two nights, on the 16th and 17th, Brandi Carlisle takes residence up at the Ryman with a week of shows from the 13th-19th, and Miranda Lambert will bring her latest and greatest hits to Bridgestone on the 24th

Zanies Comedy Club has some well known acts this month, as Bill Bellamy, Kevin Nealon, and Chelsea Handler will be dropping in to perform.

Like big boats and you cannot lie? The Boat Expo will be downtown at Music City Center on the 9th, and if you need an RV to tow home your new bassmaster, the RV Expo is rolling into town on the 24th, also at the MCC.
