Holy Shamrocks, March is FINALLY here!

Editor’s note: We were super excited to talk about the Music City Irish Fest, happening on March 14th through 17th at the Bicentennial Mall, but that all changed early Tuesday morning, as the Mall was almost directly hit by the March 3rd tornado. Our monthly calendar update was written before the storm hit, and we’re working on a detailed and comprehensive post that will let you know, where, when, and how to donate money, time, and services to people in need across the Mid-State. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support these past couple of days. We’ve worked very closely with our wonderful clients in places hit the hardest like Mt. Juliet, Wilson County, Germantown, and North Nashville, and we’re committed to seeing our communities rebuild, grow, and recover. #NashvilleStrong #IBelieveinNashville

Music

Kicking off a month of what we’d like to call Ear-Worm Tours, Post Malone will be playing at Bridgestone tonight. More than face tattoos and Bud Light commercials, Posty is a producer, rapper, singer, and multi-instrument player. You probably think that you are better now, better now, for knowing these little known facts about him, but don’t pretend his latest hit Circles hasn’t been on repeat in your head for the last couple of months.

Rounding out the week is Dan + Shay with two sold out shows at Bridgestone on the 6th and 7th. 2018’s ear-worm hit ‘Tequila’ became the staple of bachelorette pedal taverns here,  followed by the success of their other hit Speechless, which is what we were after they turned out 10,000 Hours with Justin Beiber, and made it work somehow. They are now Country Music Award Darlings and the reigning CMA and ACMA’s Duo of the Year. Opening up for them is The Band Camino, a Memphis outfit that has garnered a pretty big following lately. They are definitely on several people’s ‘bands to watch’ lists.

March 27th, Grammy and Lime Green Queen Billie Eilish will take her very successful ‘Where do we sleep tour?” from outside festivals to the indoor arena at Bridgestone. Last June, Billie performed at Ascend Amphitheater  and proved why she was worth all the hype for her deafening, screaming loud fanbase. She sounds great and consistent live, had enough stage presence to navigate the crowd with a broken foot, and has some seriously stunning visual imagery and stage design. Pretend to take the kids under protest, but know you will walk away with some well-earned respect for the 18-year-old pop sensation.

Soccer

Nashville Soccer Club had their home opener at Nissan Stadium in front of a record 59,000 fans! Unable to stop the Lebron caliber flopping of Atlanta United all over the field, we lost 2-1, but it was still fun to watch, and impossible not to get caught up in the energy and excitement of the game. The only home game this month will be back at Nissan on March 21st, at 1:00pm vs the Columbus Crew Soccer Club.

Hockey

We’ve entered the true battle and grind phase of the hockey season, and the Predators are thisclose to ‘will they or won’t they’ actually make the play-off this year. February was a wild month, losing games by 6 or 7 goals, and then miraculously winning with .01 seconds left in the 3rd period. There are five chances left for you to see the 2020 squad in action this month, on the 5th, 19th, 21st, 24th, and 26th, and we desperately need some 7th man magic to keep our heads in the game.
