It's the Last December of the Decade! Here's The Happenings This Month.

December Calendar with Snowman and ornaments

Have you been wondering what to do between preparing for the holidays and counting down the end of the decade? Good thing we found all the sights, sounds and action in town for you!

FOOTBALL

Titans host the Texans on the15th and will host the Saints on the 22nd. After benching QB Marcus Mariota halfway through the season, Ryan Tannehill has spearheaded a resurgence in offense and orchestrated a couple of signature wins. Heisman trophy winner Derrick Henry is putting on a clinic in the backfield, and we could be seeing an MVP level performance from the Alabama standout. The Texans just beat the Patriots last week, and the Saints were able to pull out a win in Atlanta over the Falcons, so it will be crucial to secure wins for the divisional standings.

The Music City Bowl will also be at Nissan Stadium on the 30th. Could the Tennessee Volunteers be representing the SEC in this one? We'll find out next week when Bowl Selections are announced.

HOCKEY

Predators will host the Tampa Bay Lightning on the 3rd, the New Jersey Devils on the 7th, the San Jose Sharks on the 10th, the Dallas Stars on the 14th, the Arizona Coyotes on the 23rd, and the Pittsburgh Penguins on the 27th. Goaltender Pekka Rinne was credited for his 350th career win and 58th shut out, but it's not looking too good for the Preds right now. Injuries and disastrous defense have left the club 5th in the division, a low turn considering they are defending Central Division Champions with back to back Stanley cup playoff appearances.

BASKETBALL

Any basketball fans out there? You are in luck! Between Vanderbilt, TSU, MTSU, Lipscomb, Belmont and Austen Peay, over 15 games are scheduled just this month in the mid-state! Lipscomb and Belmont are entering a new era, as both parted ways with their longtime coaches and went in new directions. Belmont didn't go too far though; they pulled head coach Casey Alexander from Lipscomb earlier this year.

MUSIC

Ariana Grande returns to Bridgestone Arena on the 5th. Fun fact about Ariana, she is closing out the decade as one of the top 5 most played artists on Spotify, America's biggest streaming music platform.

Amy Grant and Vince Gill host Christmas at the Ryman the 12th through the 23rd. The beloved King and Queen of the Music City, Amy and Vince are back to sing holiday favorites with their friends and family.

Competing with some of our seasoned stars, Luke Combs, fresh off his decisive wins at the Country Music Awards, brings two nights of sold out shows to Bridgestone Arena on the 12th and 13th

You may not have heard of them yet, but you should... Greta Van Fleet will play a packed house at War Memorial on the 16th.

HOLIDAY

The 92nd Annual Nashville Christmas Parade will be on the 7th, from 8:00-11:30am, and begins on the corner of 1st Ave and Union St.

After you're done at the downtown parade, you can cruise down to Franklin for their annual parade, from 2-4pm

The classic movie Home Alone gets a dignified spin with an assist from the Nashville Symphony Orchestra at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on the 12th and 13th.

Would it truly be a holiday without mentioning the perennial and iconic Nutcracker ballet? Of course not! This year, we have the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker on the 24th at the Ryman for that extra dose of holiday magic.
